XnView for Windows

XnView is the full-fledged answer to the well-publicized ACDSee product. It is superior to any image file viewer/converter in many ways. The program can perform such operations on pictures as cropping, changing image/ canvas size, printing, changing gamma-contrast-brightness-balance, and much more. All of these operations and filters (in any combination) can be applied to a large number of files at once in automatic mode. These combinations can be saved as scripts and used later.

The application has a powerful tool for file navigation and manipulation: thumbnails, support for files with descriptions, copy/paste files via clipboard, drag-drop support, non-graphic file browsing, automatic creation of file list, integration with Windows (adding "Browse with XnView" command to the context menu, association with graphic files, adding icons to the Desktop, Start menu)...

One of the differences of the program is the HUGE number of supported formats (about 400!), from the most popular to the most exotic, more than 45 languages are supported. The program supports bulk conversion, as well as streaming, the parameters of which are set in the settings of the program.

Many additional options are available, such as working with the scanner, working with the contact list, taking screenshots, working with the Windows wallpaper, cropping, HTML-albums generation for posting on the Internet, image capture (the active window, the whole screen, the user area), inserting images from the buffer, counting the colors used in the picture. In general, all possibilities for every taste.

The interface of XnView is very friendly, and many things can be customized according to the user's needs. In addition, this viewer has an original, quite nice design, which pleases the eye after the monotonous buttons and panels of other programs. And if you want, you can watch movies in some formats. However, this function is not implemented well enough, but that's not the main purpose of the program...
