Alcohol 120% is a free version of the popular software for burning CDs/DVDs, creating virtual drives on your computer, and emulating data from an optical disc.

It allows you to record an image of a disc with data, audio, or video information on a hard drive (hard drive, flash drive), and then provide access to this data to other programs as if the optical drive you are looking for is really in the drive. This is especially true for many computer games which run only from the disc.

Putting a disc image in the form of a specific archive on your computer is much more reliable than storing data on regular CD/DVD discs. Therefore, this program can also be considered as a backup application: in case an optical disc is damaged, you can always write a new one from the image to your PC.
